You can find a variety of shark teeth and fossils in our fossil-rich material, including but not limited to tigers, stingray teeth, barbs, hastalis, whale teeth, vertebrae, bulls, lemons, alligator teeth, and megalodon teeth!
Everything you find at Messy Farms, no matter the size, you’re welcome to take home!
YES! Expect to get dirty with any experience at Messy Farms, but get ready to get muddy when booking damp sifting. We recommend bringing a towel and an extra set of everything! We'll have an area you can wash off and change. Water shoes or boots are encouraged!
Absolutely! As a thank you for your service, we offer veterans $15 off their booking. Just mention it in your booking email and bring verification on the day of your reservation.

As much as we would love to guarantee that everyone takes home a megalodon tooth, Messy Farms is all about authentic fossil hunting. We do not plant or seed shark teeth! You are the first human to touch whatever you find! Pretty cool, right?!
No need! You’re welcome to bring your own equipment, but we provide everything for you to use. We recommend bringing a container for your finds, but bags are available to take home all your treasures, if needed.
We’re open 9am to 1pm on operating days. Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign waivers and make payments. We start with a quick overview at 9am, then you’re free to dig in!
At 1pm we call “last bucket” so you can finish sifting. Afterward, swing by the tent to show off your haul! We love to get photos and videos :)
Reservations are required! Please email us at your earliest convenience to book. Our exact address is provided upon booking. We’re located about 5 minutes from the map pin when navigating to Myakka City, FL.

We’d love to offer more dates, but for now we’re only open on select weekends due to our full-time jobs and other responsibilities. Be sure to follow our socials (@messyfarms) for the latest updates and newly released dates.
As much as we would love to see your furry friends, we ask that you leave them at home. Pictured is Macy, Matt & Sammi's dog, she sometimes makes an appearance on cooler days.
